Ok this is a pretty mainstream alternative emo band. Can you use mainstream and alternative together like that? Anyway Death Cab for Cutie is one of my favorite bands to listen to while driving.
I was searching youtube trying to find someone that has a decent cover of this song, I’ll Follow You Into The Dark but out of the close to fifty or so I watch none came close to doing it justice. So I went with Ben Gibbard of Death Cab.
If your a John Mayer or Dave Matthews fan you’ll recognize their influences in this tube video from Noah Needleman. That name sounds like it should be in a Saturday Night Live sketch. This is a original call either Underwater or Bubbles.
Not many people cover Jimmy Eat World songs, so when I found this one by a brother sister team I figured I’d post it. I’m not a big fan of these two but they defiantly have talent and the girl does some great Cranberries covers. I just wish they had some originals.
If you don’t know Buckethead then you are missing one awesome freak show and a genius when it comes to guitar. His unbelievable fret gymnastics are a thing to hear and his 6′4″ frame, white cadaver mask and KFC chicken bucket are a sight to see. Here is a unusual video of Buckethead playing some sweet acoustic guitar.
You may have heard of this Texas band. They’re called Eisley named after the bar in star wars. They have some great commercial susses I first heard of them when they were a itunes free download of the week. If you want to hear more check out their other song Trolly Wood.
Sick of Sarah is a all girl band with loads of talent. This video is for a great song done by the singer Abisha Uhl. It’s a catchy song that I got stuck in my head for the last couple days. Anyway give it a listen and I’m not responsible if you end up with it stuck in your head.
This song is by a girl who I think is or was just 15 years old at the time of the video. She is has a very sweet voice. If you like her check out her other video she sounds like a old pro.
This is easily one of my favorite new bands. Smoosh are two sisters that started writing their own songs playing their own instruments and recording their first CD while still in elementary school. They have shared a stage with bands like Death Cab For Cutie, The Presidents of the United States of America and Pearl Jam.
